Refund Policy

Advertising

All advertising sales are final and nonrefundable. These include: display and classified advertisements for The Writer’s Chronicle; Conference Program advertisements; conference app advertisements, website advertisements, and email advertisements (enewsletter and conference emails). In the unlikely event that you need to cancel a particular advertisement, payment can be applied to an advertisement in another category. Author Signings

Author signing spot sales are final and nonrefundable.

Bookfair Exhibit & Performace Space

Bookfair exhibit and performance space is nonrefundable. This includes booth and table exhibits, as well as the bookfair stage. For questions about the bookfair please contact bookfairservices@awpwriter.org.

Conference Attendee Registration

Conference registration sales are final and nonrefundable. A registration may be transferred to another individual provided this individual is not already registered, the registration is used for the same conference, and the individual qualifies for the type of registration being transferred. For example, a student registration can only be transferred to another student. For more information about registration transfers, please contact registration@awpwriter.org.

Donations

Thank you once again for supporting AWP’s services for writers. Donations are nonrefundable. They are also tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. If your level of support includes additional items such as a membership or a conference registration, please see the refund policies for those particular items on this page. Individual Memberships & Subscriptions to The Writer's Chronicle

Effective June 1, 2020, individual memberships and subscriptions will be fully refundable up to 30 days from the original payment processing date. After 30 days, the purchase will not be refundable but may be transferred to another individual. Please contact the Membership Department at awp@awpwriter.org if you wish to request a membership refund or transfer.

A special note concerning membership-registration bundles: the purchase of a membership-registration bundle allows members to enjoy a much lower conference registration rate while receiving the benefits of a one-year membership. However, if a membership is refunded, your conference registration will revert to the nonmember price.

For both individual membership and subscription refunds:

  • If the payment was made online using a credit card, we will generally be able to refund the card directly, and you should see your refund within 5 business days.
  • If the payment was made by check, you will be refunded by check, and these refunds may take up to four weeks to process.

Interview Space

Conference interview room space sales are final and nonrefundable.

Organizational Memberships: Institutional, Affiliate, WC&C, & High School

AWP is unable to provide organizational membership refunds. If you are having difficulty with your program’s membership, please contact us at awp@awpwriter.org or (240) 696-7700, and we will do our best to help you find a solution.

Receptions

Reception order sales are final and nonrefundable.

WC&C Program Memberships

The Writer’s Chronicle Single Issues

Purchases of single issues of The Writer’s Chronicle are final and nonrefundable.
