Manisha Sharma was born and raised in India. As a writer passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration, she teaches Women's and Gender Studies in the department of Sociology at Virginia Tech. Manisha earned an MFA from Virginia Tech and is a graduate of the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. Her fiction has been nominated for Best New American Voices, and has won the Greenbelt Review Prize as well as the Virginia Tech Fiction Prize. Her writing across genres has appeared in The Common, The Bombay Review, Greenbelt Review, Superficial Flesh, Southern Homes, and elsewhere.  The Vanishing is Manisha's latest project that includes poetry, music composition, art, and design installation.
