China Hill-LoBue was born and raised in Chicago, and her writing is inspired by the resonant voices of those from urban communities. China holds a Master of Arts in Writing from DePaul University and has taken creative writing courses through the Iowa Summer Writing Festival, the Newberry Library, and the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Writers Series. In addition to writing, China works as a counselor and adult education instructor in the Chicagoland area. She currently lives with her husband in Berwyn, Illinois.
